Our Story

A philosophy of prevention

Relay12 isn't simply another technology platform. It's a statement about when school safety begins — from a founder with two decades in law enforcement and victim services.

A letter from our founder

Over the years, I've come to realize that my greatest challenge isn't proving that Relay12 works — it's helping people see it differently.

Most school safety conversations begin with how we respond to emergencies, but I've spent my career seeing what happens long before that moment. Every school tragedy begins as information someone already possessed: a student heard a threat, a friend noticed depression, a teacher observed a change, or a parent sensed something wasn't right. The question isn't whether the information existed; it's whether there was a trusted way for it to reach the people who could change the outcome.

That's why Relay12 was created. It isn't simply another technology platform — it is the connective infrastructure that gives students a trusted voice, equips educators with actionable information, strengthens behavioral health partnerships, and helps schools intervene before a crisis becomes a headline.

My hope isn't simply to introduce you to another product. It's to start a conversation about building a school environment where prevention becomes the standard, communication becomes the first line of defense, and every student knows that when they speak up, someone is listening.

Because the greatest success in school safety is not measured by how quickly we respond after a crisis begins — it's measured by the number of crises that never occur because someone had the courage to speak, someone was willing to listen, and someone chose to act.

We Believe

School safety does not begin with a lockdown. It does not begin with a panic button. It does not begin with a police response.

School safety begins the moment a student has something to say — and someone is listening.

The most dangerous moment in a school is not the moment of crisis. It is the moment before — when information existed, when warning signs were present, when a student was struggling, and no trusted pathway existed to carry that information to the people who could have changed what happened next.

Not a feature set. A movement.

Relay12 is a K-12 student safety and mental wellness platform. But more than that, it is the infrastructure of a philosophy: that prevention is not a program — it is a practice. That listening is not passive — it is the most powerful safety intervention a school can make.

For Students

A trusted voice when silence feels like the only option.

For Schools

The tools to hear, act, and document — before situations escalate.

For Communities

The assurance that safety begins before the emergency.

"I'm not asking you to think differently about Relay12. I'm asking you to think differently about when school safety begins."
